Education professional with over 24 years experience working across diverse fields including student / teacher social and emotional wellbeing, leader in behaviour change and whole of school change management.
Dr Kristy Wood is a diverse educator who has worked across many sectors of Education in Australia. She has worked as a Classroom Teacher, Director of Early Learning Centres, Learning and Support Teacher, Teacher Educator, Youth Worker in Suicide Prevention, Behaviour Educator and as a Social and Emotional Wellbeing Teacher.
Kristy has a deep love for bringing school communities together to be responsive to the students and communities they serve. She is passionate about supporting educators to embrace what they have to offer and ignite their spark and love for education.
Kristy has an innate understanding of behaviour and how children communicate through different forms of behaviour. She has an ability to observe children and identify their strengths and support them to build on these so that they become more confident within themselves and build the skills to engage and feel purposeful in life.
She also has a way of guiding children to let go of behaviours that do not support them and learn to embrace what is possible and develop new ways of relating and expressing themselves with others.
